My Neighbour Totoro Cookies

Posted by in Cookies, Japanese

Most of you know that I’ve been going a little crazy with Japanese things lately. Stocking my pantry full of tasty treats and watching endless amounts of extremely amusing Japanese cartoons. So I’ve taken it to one more level.

One of my favourite Japanese Animations is Totoro. You may have seen Totoro featured in some family photos before, like this one with Mark and Oh-Totoro (Big Totoro) enjoying some Bacon for breakfast.

But, we’re not being fair to Oh-Totoro – that hat is a mere representation of his true awesomeness. Totoro is “The Spirit of the Forest” who can complete with that title? Let’s not forget Chuu-Totoro & Chibi-Totoro. I’ll let you guess what those stand for, I’ve given you a hint already.

So in respect for Totoro (& Miyazaki, his creator) and all the happiness this wonderful story has brought me, I decided to do this….

I hope you enjoy my creations. The chocolate cookie recipe turned out delicious. Another one from Marian at Sweetopia. Mark even told me they were just like store bought ones. Now that’s a winner cookie. :)

Have a very happy new year everyone. We’ll see you in 2014!!
